Russia launched a massive overnight drone attack on Ukraine early Friday, injuring four people and striking key infrastructure in the southern Odesa region. The assault damaged a hospital, a grain warehouse, and other buildings.
Ukraine’s air defenses intercepted 59 out of 102 Russian drones, while 37 were diverted using electronic warfare tactics.
The attack caused destruction across multiple regions, including Sumy in the northeast, Odesa in the south, and Cherkasy in central Ukraine.
Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper reported that four civilians, including a doctor, were injured in strikes on the city of Chornomorsk. The drone attacks also disrupted electricity and damaged a hospital, an administrative building, a residential house, a grain warehouse, and several trucks.
In the central Cherkasy region, officials confirmed that drone debris damaged an apartment building.
