“Hardship: T-Pain signifies temporary pain; Tinubu will win the 2027 election – Okupe.”

Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman, has expressed his belief that Nigerians will re-elect President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Okupe, who previously supported Peter Obi of the Labour Party during the last election cycle, clarified the social media nickname “T-Pain” associated with Tinubu, stating that it represents “Temporary Pain.”

During his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Monday, Okupe discussed the political landscape, highlighting an unspoken agreement between the southern and northern regions regarding the rotation of the presidency. He pointed out that former President Muhammadu Buhari, whom he described as having not performed well, completed two full terms of eight years. Now that Tinubu has taken office and, in Okupe’s view, is demonstrating effective leadership, he believes Tinubu will be given the full eight years he deserves.

“I am confident that Nigerians will make the right choice,” Okupe stated, emphasizing that the populace is reasonable and does not demand excessively from their leaders. Following a recent meeting with President Tinubu in Abuja, he asserted that if Tinubu can address critical issues such as electricity supply, the ongoing fuel crisis, and food shortages before the next election, the public sentiment will shift dramatically in favor of Tinubu. “If Bola Tinubu provides us with stable electricity by 2027 and resolves these pressing crises, I believe people will take to the streets to declare their support for him, saying it’s Bola or nobody,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Okupe elaborated on the T-Pain nickname, asserting that it symbolizes a temporary phase of hardship that will ultimately lead to significant and beneficial improvements for the nation. His comments come amid reports of unprecedented inflation levels affecting Nigerians, as the country grapples with a challenging economic environment.
