The immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa (rtd), has said he is leaving the military with pride and a clear conscience, having devoted his life to the service of Nigeria.
Speaking during his Valedictory Pulling-Out Parade held on Friday in Abuja, General Musa expressed gratitude to God for a fulfilling career and thanked Nigerians for their support, particularly the youth, whom he described as the hope of the nation.
“As I formally retire my uniform, I am leaving the stage with pride and a clear conscience, having given my all in service to Nigeria,” he said.
“I may be retiring from active service today, but I will never retire from my love for Nigeria. I remain a soldier at heart and a patriot committed to the Constitution and sovereignty of our great nation.”
The retired military chief also appreciated the media for its partnership in promoting national unity and development throughout his tenure.
Musa reaffirmed his commitment to continue contributing to national progress in other capacities, adding that his years in service were marked by dedication to duty and faith in God’s protection.
