The wife of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Mrs. Lilian Adebayo, has declared that her husband, Prince Adewole Adebayo, will contest again for Nigeria’s presidency in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in Abuja after receiving an award of honour from the Forum of SDP State Chairmen, led by Lagos Chairman Hon. Femi Olaniyi (Ferrari), Mrs. Adebayo ruled out the possibility of her husband defecting to any other political party.

“Prince Adewole Adebayo is not in politics for ambition; he is in it for service. If Nigerians are honest with themselves, he can defeat anybody in 2027,” she said confidently.

She described her husband as a consistent and principled politician who has remained loyal to the SDP since joining at age 19.

“He had several opportunities to move to other parties, including the PDP, but he chose to remain in the SDP. By the grace of God, in the next election, he will still be there,” she added.

Mrs. Adebayo commended the SDP’s internal conflict resolution process, saying the party has always resolved its challenges amicably.

On women’s inclusion in politics, she called for greater female representation, noting that women bring empathy, fairness, and balance to leadership.

“Women deserve more representation. If men allow us to sort ourselves out, we will always support one another,” she said.
