Resident doctors working for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will commence an indefinite strike on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in solidarity with the national body.
The Association of Resident Doctors, FCTA Chapter (ARD-FCTA), made this known in a notice to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. The doctors stated that their industrial action will continue independently until all their local demands are met, even if the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) suspends its own nationwide strike.
The decision was unanimously reached during an emergency congress on Wednesday. This move comes after a previous strike was suspended in September 2025 following a pledge of intervention by the Senate, which the doctors now say has not yielded results.
