New Year’s Day in Abuja is set for a major upgrade as popular comedian Koboko Master teams up with Transcorp Hilton Abuja to launch “1st 2 LAFF”, a dynamic entertainment experience designed to kick off 2026 with laughter, music, and celebration.
For years, New Year’s in the nation’s capital has largely been marked by quiet gatherings and church vigils, offering limited options for residents to welcome the year in style. The upcoming event aims to change that narrative, creating a new festive tradition for Abuja.
The maiden edition of 1st 2 LAFF promises a star-studded lineup featuring Nigeria’s top comedians, including Kenny Blaq, MC Edo Pikin, Mr Patrick, and Dan the Humorous. Guests will also enjoy live music, performances by a live band, and the energetic mixes of DJ Romie, ensuring a night packed with laughter, rhythm, and unforgettable moments.
Koboko Master described the show as “a dream born out of the need to give Abuja residents a reason to smile and celebrate the new year memorably.”
The event will take place on January 1, 2026, at the prestigious Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, starting from 5:00 PM. With its blend of comedy, music, and high-energy entertainment, 1st 2 LAFF promises to turn New Year’s Day in the FCT into a lively celebration that residents and visitors can look forward to each year.
