- Court case: Filed at the Agbani Judicial Division of Enugu State High Court (Suit No. HAGB/26/2022), it was struck out on May 10, 2023, for “want of diligence” and abandonment.

- NMA leadership response: Despite the case being struck out and MDCN’s verification, the current national leadership of NMA, led by Prof. Bala Mohammed Audu, continues to reference the case to justify imposition of Dr. Ndiokwelu as Enugu State Branch Chairman, even though Ndiokwelu is suspended.

- Drs. Ugwoke and Ndiokwelu allegedly used the fictitious Dr. Nnaemeka to avoid accountability for funds allegedly embezzled from the association.
- They are accused of undermining MDCN and propagating frivolous legal actions against the association.
- They reportedly stole an electronic recorder from an NMA Enugu State Ordinary General Meeting in February 2024.
- Official stance by NMA Enugu State Branch:
- The branch condemned these actions as unethical, fraudulent, and disgraceful.
- A formal letter was sent to the President-in-Council, calling for action to discipline Drs. Ugwoke, Ndiokwelu, and co-travelers.
- The branch warned it may publicly dissociate itself from these individuals if corrective action is not taken.
- Commentary: Dr. Oforbuike Justin described the scandal as morally reprehensible, noting it surpasses even medical quackery in severity, emphasizing the ethical and moral crisis within the NMA.
