Incredibles 3: Everything We Know About Pixar’s Next Superhero Adventure

Pixar fans, rejoice! Over 20 years after the original film, the Parr family is returning to theaters in Incredibles 3.

The original Incredibles movie premiered on November 4, 2004, introducing audiences to the Parr family: superheroes trying to live normal lives until a villain forces them back into action. Its 2018 sequel, Incredibles 2, continued the story with the Parrs fighting a new villain while navigating family life, quickly becoming one of Pixar’s highest-grossing films until Inside Out 2 surpassed it in 2024.

Incredibles 3: Development and Director

Pixar confirmed Incredibles 3 during the D23 Entertainment Showcase in 2024, with Brad Bird returning as writer and director. Bird, who also voiced the iconic Edna Mode, previously directed both Incredibles films and Pixar classics such as Ratatouille, WALL-E, Up, and Toy Story 3 & 4.

While the film is still in development, Bird has teased that unused ideas from Incredibles 2 could appear in this next installment, opening possibilities for new characters and storylines.

Plot and What We Know So Far

No official plot details have been released for Incredibles 3, but the film is expected to continue exploring the lives of Bob (Mr. Incredible), Helen (Elastigirl), Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack Parr. Fans may also see more of Lucius/Frozone, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, potentially including an origin story of his superhero beginnings.

The franchise has always balanced family dynamics with superhero action, and the third film is likely to continue that trend while introducing fresh challenges for the Parr family.

  • Craig T. Nelson as Bob Parr / Mr. Incredible
