LaKeith Stanfield Calls Watching Wife Kasmere Give Birth “Craziest, Beautiful, Powerful, Amazing Thing”

Actor LaKeith Stanfield shared a heartfelt reflection on the birth of his first child with wife Kasmere Trice Stanfield, calling the experience “craziest, beautiful, powerful, amazing thing” during the New York premiere of Die My Love on November 1, 2025, at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater.

Witnessing Birth: A Life-Changing Moment

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, Stanfield described holding a camera and capturing the moment while supporting Kasmere during labor.

“As a man, all you want to do is help and bear witness,” he said. “And I feel like, coming out of this movie, we’re reminded how important women are, how important they are to the entirety of creation in the world.”

He added that he actively assisted during the birth, calling the experience “amazing” and reflecting on the strength and power of women.

Marriage and Fatherhood

Stanfield and Kasmere revealed to PEOPLE in July 2023 that they had married and welcomed their first child together. The couple has chosen to keep their baby’s name and sex private, emphasizing their desire to protect their child.

LaKeith is also a father to two daughters from previous relationships, and he shared that becoming a parent has deeply impacted his perspective:

“I’m truly concerned about their wellbeing and that I want them to do well, to be well, to feel well in the world… The connection with my kids is something unlike any I’ve ever had in my life.”

Kasmere echoed the sentiment, explaining that the couple wanted to prioritize privacy and protection for their new family member.
