Magboro–Makogi Road: Residents Praise Ogun Govt, Urge Swift Completion

Residents of the Magboro–Makogi community in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area have lauded the Ogun State Government for the ongoing construction of the 8.17-kilometre Magboro–Makogi Road. The project, featuring concrete interlocking, is particularly significant given the area’s history of waterlogging.

During an inspection on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, residents expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of work, describing the project as a major infrastructural milestone. They noted it would improve transportation, beautify the community, and boost socio-economic activities in the area.

Speaking on behalf of local shop owners, Mr. Uche Okoro and Alhaji Wasiu Sanusi commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his dedication to infrastructural renewal in Ogun State. They urged the contractor to expedite construction, emphasizing that timely completion would provide lasting relief to residents, business owners, and commuters who have long faced challenges from poor road conditions.

Reaffirming their support for the state government, residents described the project as a testament to good governance and responsiveness to citizens’ needs.

Addressing journalists, Engr. Akinsanya said he had instructed the contractor to intensify work during the dry season to ensure the road is delivered promptly and to the highest standard.

“The government is determined to ensure this project is completed promptly and to the highest quality. With the rains now subsiding, I have instructed the contractor to intensify efforts so residents can begin to enjoy the benefits of this new road as soon as possible,” he said.

Project Manager Mr. Jason Zhang confirmed steady progress and praised the cooperation between residents and the state government, assuring that the road would be delivered on schedule and according to specifications.
