Ancelotti Responds to Mbappé’s Omission from France Squad: “It’s Not My Decision”

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has clarified that the decision to exclude Kylian Mbappé from France’s latest squad was not made by him, emphasizing that it was solely the choice of French national team coach Didier Deschamps.

On Thursday, Deschamps revealed his 23-man squad for France’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Israel. However, Mbappé’s absence from the list was a surprising development for many, raising questions and sparking speculation among fans and pundits alike. This marks the fourth consecutive time Mbappé has been left out of the French national team.

Addressing the situation ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Osasuna on Saturday, Ancelotti expressed that he had no involvement in the decision and reaffirmed Mbappé’s commitment and motivation.

“It’s not my decision,” Ancelotti said in his pre-match press conference when asked about the omission. “He is my player, he is motivated and working hard. He’s training really well. Not just him, but everyone. It’s not just Kylian—every player needs to work in order to play to our full potential.”

Ancelotti’s comments reflect his ongoing confidence in Mbappé’s dedication and performance at the club level, despite the player’s recent struggles to secure a place in the French national team.
