After suffering a 4-1 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final first leg, Chelsea Women’s head coach Sonia Bompastor has called for a strong response in the Women’s Super League, starting with their upcoming clash against Crystal Palace.
Acknowledging the result in Spain as a “difficult day,” Bompastor remains confident in her squad’s resilience and depth as they shift focus back to domestic competition.
“We need to show reaction in the league game tomorrow against Crystal Palace,” said Bompastor. “From this morning, I told my players we need to look at the future—this is the only thing we can control now.”
