Burna Boy: “I’d prefer to kill than to die for Nigerians”

Singer Burna Boy has urged Nigerians to stop comparing him to the late Afrobeat pioneer and activist, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

JOINTEARN reports that Burna Boy, known for his protest music that has drawn parallels with Fela, recently faced backlash over the detention of fellow artist Speed Darlington, who allegedly defamed him.

In response to the criticism, Burna Boy asserted that he is not Fela and insisted that the comparisons must end. He stressed that he would rather kill than die for Nigerians.

“Enough of the Burna Boy and Fela comparisons. I’m not Fela, I’m BIG7. I stand for positivity, peace, and prosperity, but honestly, I’d rather kill than die for you,” he wrote on his Instastory.
