Cheltenham Festival legend Delta Work, a three-time winner at the event and runner-up in the 2024 Grand National, has passed away at the age of 12.

Owned by Gigginstown House Stud and trained by Gordon Elliott, the talented racehorse succumbed to complications from colic.

Delta Work made his mark at Cheltenham with a victory in the 2018 Pertemps Final, followed by consecutive wins in the Glenfarclas Chase in 2022 and 2023. His impressive career also included five Grade One victories, along with strong Grand National performances—finishing third in 2022 and improving to second place in 2024.

Reflecting on his legacy, Gigginstown’s Eddie O’Leary said, “He was an incredible horse, and we were extremely fortunate and proud to have him. Gordon did a fantastic job with him, and he was an exceptionally versatile, honest, and reliable competitor.”
