Nigerian stand-up comedian Bovi Ugboma has expressed his opposition to the practice of beating children as a form of discipline.

In a recent appearance on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Bovi stressed that children should never be beaten, no matter the circumstances.

“I don’t advocate for beating children. You should let children be. When you hit a kid, are you really trying to correct them or are you just frustrated?” he questioned.

The comedian also condemned the tradition of senior students punishing their junior peers in primary and secondary schools, stating, “No child should be given authority over another child in the name of ‘senior student’. It really has to stop.”
