Nigerian comedian Deeone has called out popular influencer VeryDarkMan, demanding that he update the public about the donations made to his NGO. Deeone gave VeryDarkMan a one-week ultimatum to clarify the status of the funds after the money was raised for his educational charity.
According to reports from JOINTEARN, VeryDarkMan had appealed to the public for donations several weeks ago, seeking funds for his new initiative aimed at improving education in Nigeria. However, since the donations began pouring in, there has been little to no information about how the money is being used.
In a viral video posted on Instagram this past Friday, Deeone questioned VeryDarkMan’s silence on the matter, emphasizing the need for transparency regarding the donated funds. Deeone, who has been vocal about the issue, expressed his concerns over the lack of updates from the influencer, especially after he publicly solicited support.
“VeryDarkMan, I’m giving you one week to wrap up whatever you’re doing with the NGO and give Nigerians an update, just as you came out publicly to ask for money. That money was never meant for personal use,” Deeone stated in the video.
He also highlighted the importance of holding VeryDarkMan accountable, adding, “VeryDarkMan needs to be held responsible. The reason so many celebrities remain silent is because he holds their secrets. He begged openly for donations and now he wants to keep everything private.”
Deeone’s call for transparency has sparked conversation about the accountability of celebrities and influencers who raise public funds for charitable causes.
