Dare: Tinubu Should Be Recognized for Ending Subsidies, Sleeps by 5 AM

Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Public Communications and Orientation, emphasized the need to commend President Tinubu for his decision to remove the fuel subsidy. During an appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Dare urged the public to exercise patience as the Tinubu administration implements its reforms.

Dare highlighted the president’s unwavering dedication and effort to address various issues while fulfilling his commitments to the nation. He stated, “Tinubu is adept at governance. He is a man who burns the midnight oil while others indulge in leisure.” Reflecting on his seven years of collaboration with the president, Dare remarked on their rigorous schedules, revealing that they often worked until the early hours of the morning, sometimes sleeping at 4, 5, or even 6 AM.

He described the removal of the fuel subsidy and other reforms introduced by the Tinubu government as bold and significant measures. According to Dare, the president has chosen to take the road less traveled by implementing these policies, which, while challenging, are intended to address long-standing problems in the country.

Despite the backlash and protests against the adverse economic conditions resulting from these reforms—protests that occurred in August and October of this year—Dare reiterated that the Tinubu administration is committed to resolving these issues. President Tinubu himself has acknowledged the difficulties faced by citizens due to the reforms but remains steadfast in his approach, urging Nigerians to be patient as the benefits of these changes will eventually manifest.
