Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has claimed that the top doctors in the United States are of Nigerian origin.

He made the statement while discussing the impact of Africans in various professional and creative fields during an appearance on the Afric TV programme. Davido highlighted the significant contributions of Africans to the global music scene and noted that Western filmmakers are increasingly turning to the continent for inspiration.

“The best doctors in America are Nigerians. You can verify it. Even at my record label, Sony Music, Africans bring the most innovative ideas. This demonstrates our boundless imagination,” he said.

He also pointed out that streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime are now looking to Africa for movie concepts, adding, “Now, when you check Netflix, you’ll find at least two Nigerian films in the top 10. Africa is the future, trust me. We have everything we need, except for a few missing pieces.”

While Nigerians have earned a reputation for excellence in the medical field in the U.S., there is no statistical evidence to support the claim that they are the best.
