Nollywood actor-turned-politician, Desmond Elliot, has finally addressed recent rumors about his sexual orientation, following allegations that he was involved in homosexuality. These claims were part of a broader list that named several high-profile Nigerian celebrities as allegedly involved in same-sex relationships, which sparked significant backlash from netizens across social media.
In a viral video from his interview with TVC, Elliot dismissed the allegations, calling them baseless and unworthy of his attention. He explained that he had more important matters to focus on and did not see the need to respond to what he considered malicious gossip.
Elliot further emphasized that such allegations neither affected his life nor his work. “Why would I respond to allegations made against me when it did not reduce or increase my life?” he asked. He also pointed out that the rumors were merely opinions being formed without substance. “I don’t think it is necessary for me to come out and confirm or deny it; as long as I’m affecting people positively, I’m good,” he added.
To clarify his stance, Elliot firmly stated, “Let me state it very clearly that I am straight,” putting to rest the speculation surrounding his personal life.
