Nasarawa United head coach, Kabiru Dogo, has expressed strong belief in Victor Collins’ ability to succeed at the international level, backing the defender to make a lasting impact with the Super Eagles.
Collins recently received his first-ever call-up to the national team for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda. Notably, he is the only home-based player included in the squad selected by caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen.
The call-up comes after a series of standout performances by Collins in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season, where he has been a key figure for Nasarawa United. Dogo, who joined the team just days before the season began, has been impressed by the defender’s abilities and is confident that Collins has what it takes to earn a regular spot in the Super Eagles.
“Collins is a top-quality defender,” Dogo said. “When I joined the team just four days before the season started, he had already made a significant impression with his performances. I believe he has all the qualities necessary to become a regular player for the Super Eagles. He has the talent, and if he continues on this path, there’s no reason why he won’t succeed.”
Dogo’s faith in Collins’ potential highlights the defender’s promising future, with hopes high that he will continue to impress at both the club and national team levels.
