EPL: Van Nistelrooy to manage three Manchester United matches ahead of Amorim’s appointment.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to extend his interim management role at Manchester United until November 11, as confirmed by an official club statement released on Friday. This announcement also revealed that Ruben Amorim has been appointed as the club’s next permanent manager. However, Amorim will not be taking over at Old Trafford immediately; he is scheduled to lead Sporting Lisbon in their upcoming Champions League match against Manchester City next week.

In his interim position, Van Nistelrooy recently guided the team to a convincing 5-2 victory over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. He will continue to manage the squad for several upcoming matches, including this Sunday’s Premier League clash against Chelsea, where he aims to build on the team’s recent success.

In addition to the match against Chelsea, Van Nistelrooy will also oversee the Europa League encounter with PAOK at Old Trafford and another Premier League fixture at home against Leicester City. Following these games, Ruben Amorim’s first official match as Manchester United’s manager is slated to be an away game against Ipswich Town on November 24.
