Four people were injured in an auto accident on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

On Sunday, an auto accident on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway resulted in varying degrees of injury to four individuals when a Mazda commercial bus collided with a Toyota car. The incident was confirmed on Monday by William Manga, the unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for the Badagry Command.

The collision took place around 3:20 p.m., near the Agbo-Malu Bus Stop along the Age-Mowo section of the expressway. Upon receiving immediate alerts about the accident, FRSC personnel quickly mobilized to the scene, arriving just three minutes later at 3:23 p.m.

The accident involved a Mazda commercial bus, registered as ABJ 95 YJ, and a Toyota car, with the registration number KTU 339 YJ. Both vehicles were traveling from Badagry when the head-on collision occurred. A total of 18 individuals were involved in the accident, but fortunately, only four sustained injuries of varying severity. These injured persons were promptly transported to the General Hospital in Badagry for medical treatment.

Commander Manga attributed the accident to reckless driving on the part of both drivers involved. He further informed that the wreckage of the two vehicles has been cleared from the scene and taken to the FRSC office in Badagry.

In light of this incident, Manga emphasized the importance of safety, urging passengers to remind drivers to avoid speeding. He also called on motorists using the one-lane expressway to remain vigilant and conscious of their speed to prevent similar accidents in the future.
