Guernsey’s Sunrise Walk of Hope Returns for Its Fifth Year to Raise Suicide Awareness

The Sunrise Walk of Hope, organized by mental health charity Guernsey Mind, is set to return for its fifth year in 2025, continuing its mission to raise awareness of suicide prevention.

Taking place on Sunday, 22 June, the 5K fundraising walk will begin at 04:00 BST from Vale Castle, guiding participants along the stunning east coast before concluding at the Bathing Pools at La Vallette.

Amanda Hibbs, Mind’s Events Lead, emphasized the event’s growing impact:
“The walk aims to raise awareness and support Mind’s work in suicide prevention and care. Every year, participation grows, showing the increasing support for mental health initiatives.”

Participants can register from 03:40 BST and are encouraged to walk in memory of loved ones by pinning photos or names to their clothing.

In 2024, the event saw an incredible 740 participants, and numbers are expected to rise again in 2025.

Join the Sunrise Walk of Hope and be part of a powerful movement towards mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
