“Mr. Ugo Nwokolo appeared on our platform for a paid appearance, during which he had the freedom to select a topic of his choice—which he did,” the statement read. “At no point did we suggest a specific topic to him, nor was he instructed on what to say, either as a team or individually.”
The team further noted that Nwokolo arrived at the recording session prepared, bringing a notepad outlining his discussion points. This preparation, they argue, contradicts his claims of being pressured into making specific statements. “He arrived with a notepad outlining his points,” the statement continued. “We are truly shocked that someone who lacks integrity and dignity—willing to spread falsehoods for fame—has been crowned by the prestigious Mr. World Nigeria.”
Nwokolo’s allegations extended beyond claims of manipulation. He asserted that he paid N5 million for his appearance on the show, only to be set up for public ridicule. He also accused Nedu of instructing him to mention specific individuals to generate viral moments, leading to severe online trolling and emotional distress.

In February 2025, Nedu stepped down following accusations of demanding sexual favors in exchange for movie roles from a female content creator. These allegations were brought to light by social media critic Martins Ortse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
