In 2027, Governor Buni cautions public office holders to avoid actions that could destabilize the political climate.

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has issued a stern warning to political office holders and civil servants, urging them not to undermine the political stability by creating distractions or confusion that could divert the government’s focus.

The warning came as Governor Buni swore in newly appointed Permanent Secretaries and other public officials. He emphasized that the government would not tolerate any deliberate actions aimed at destabilizing the polity, which could lead to confusion, disaffection, or distract from its goals.

“Any political engagement related to the 2027 election by public officers or civil servants will be seen as an intentional derailment and sabotage of the government’s efforts,” Buni stated. He reminded officials that the administration still has time to focus on its developmental agenda, promote good governance, and deliver essential services to the people.

Addressing the newly appointed officials, Buni highlighted that their appointments were based on merit, loyalty, and diligence, in line with the administration’s commitment to promoting good governance and enhancing public service delivery.

“You are joining the government at a pivotal time when we are intensifying efforts to fulfill our campaign promises and improve the lives of our people. I urge you to contribute your expertise to help achieve our goals and build a prosperous Yobe State,” he urged.
