Injury Update: Jonathan Kuminga Cleared to Play vs. Lakers After Pelvic Contusion

Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga is set to return to action after a brief injury setback. Kuminga, who had previously missed 31 games due to an ankle injury, made his long-awaited return to the lineup on March 13. After playing nine consecutive games, he sustained a pelvic contusion during the Warriors’ recent matchup against the San Antonio Spurs. As a result, Kuminga missed the game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday but has been cleared to play in Thursday’s high-stakes game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Following a thorough pregame workout in Los Angeles, Kuminga has been ruled available to come off the bench for the Warriors’ crucial matchup against the No. 3 seed Lakers, featuring stars like LeBron James and Luka Dončić.

Kuminga’s recent injury occurred during the first half against the Spurs on Sunday when he suffered a hard fall. Despite briefly returning to the game, he was ruled out for the rest of the contest and subsequently sidelined for the Grizzlies game.

Since his return from the ankle injury, Kuminga has been a key contributor for the Warriors, averaging 13.1 points on 43.8% shooting, along with 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in just under 22 minutes of action across nine games.

Warriors fans will be hoping Kuminga can continue his solid performance and provide a boost as Golden State aims to secure a strong playoff position.
