Joe Rogan Loses His #1 Podcast Spot—Fans React Strongly

Joe Rogan is no longer the reigning king of podcasts, and his loyal fans aren’t happy about it.

The Joe Rogan Experience has been dethroned as the top podcast, with The MeidasTouch Podcast taking the lead in downloads and views last month, according to rankings from Podscribe.

The left-leaning podcast, hosted by brothers Ben, Brett, and Jordan Meiselas, saw a staggering 101% increase in reach, amassing 56 million downloads and views across YouTube and audio platforms. In contrast, Rogan’s podcast slipped to second place, garnering 48.6 million downloads and views—a 32% drop from previous months.

A fan account dedicated to Rogan, simply named Joe Rogan Podcast, reacted to the news with a single-word response: “Who?”

They also posted a clip from MSNBC’s Nightcap, where panelists discussed whether The MeidasTouch Podcast’s rise in popularity could reflect a broader political shift in the U.S.

“People often say Democrats don’t know how to hit,” said Nightcap’s Stephanie Ruhle. “These guys are hitters.”

Fans Question the Rankings

Many Rogan supporters expressed skepticism about the rankings, with some suggesting there might be more at play behind the shift.

“I’m still having a VERY hard time believing this,” one user posted on X (formerly Twitter). “A podcast that came out four years ago, pushing views most Americans disagree with?”

Another commenter speculated, “The Democrats are paying for this. It’s not real. They’ll run out of money soon.”

Who Are the Meiselas Brothers?

According to Apple Podcasts, The MeidasTouch Podcast is known for its blend of humor and strong pro-democracy stance.

Each of the three hosts comes from a unique professional background:

  • Ben Meiselas – A lawyer who once represented NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and co-owns Los Angeles Magazine.
  • Brett Meiselas – An Emmy-winning producer who worked on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
  • Jordan Meiselas – An award-winning advertising executive.

Not the First Time Rogan Lost the Top Spot

Back in December, Rogan was also briefly dethroned when Not Gonna Lie, a podcast by Kylie Kelce—wife of former NFL player Jason Kelce—soared to #1 on Apple and Spotify charts upon its debut. Kelce later revealed she received significant backlash from Rogan fans, admitting the reaction “blew her mind.”

While The Joe Rogan Experience remains one of the most influential podcasts, the latest rankings suggest that shifts in listener preferences—whether political or otherwise—are shaking up the industry.
