La Liga: Real Madrid President Perez Names Potential Successor for Ancelotti

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has reportedly identified Xabi Alonso as the ideal candidate to succeed Carlo Ancelotti as the club’s manager. According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Perez believes Alonso possesses all the necessary qualities to lead the La Liga giants, including his tactical approach and style of play, which aligns with the club’s philosophy.

Despite Ancelotti’s previous success with Real Madrid, the club is facing a challenging season. So far, they have already suffered three defeats, which is more than they experienced throughout the entire previous campaign, which only saw two losses. The team’s struggles have been compounded by several factors, notably the retirement of veteran midfielder Toni Kroos. His departure has left a noticeable void in the team’s midfield, with the squad lacking the same identity and balance it had in past seasons.

Additionally, the arrival of Kylian Mbappé, while an exciting signing, has disrupted the offensive chemistry, further highlighting the team’s difficulties. These issues have sparked ongoing discussions about Ancelotti’s future at the club, even though the Italian manager led Real Madrid to several successes in the past.

Although Ancelotti’s contract runs until the summer of 2026, the pressure to deliver major trophies this season is mounting. Should the team fail to achieve significant success, it is widely believed that the door will remain open for Xabi Alonso to take over. Perez, in his vision for the future, is also reportedly keen on bringing Bayer Leverkusen’s talented playmaker, Florian Wirtz, to the Bernabeu to strengthen the squad further under Alonso’s leadership.
