Real Madrid attacking midfielder Jude Bellingham reassured his teammate Fede Valverde that there was no need to apologize after his mistake led to a goal by Gorka Guruzeta in their 2-1 La Liga defeat to Athletic Club on Wednesday.
Valverde’s error on the ball allowed Guruzeta to score the decisive goal, and the match saw Kylian Mbappé miss a penalty for Madrid.
Following the game, Valverde expressed regret for his mistake, but Bellingham, who scored Madrid’s only goal, defended the Uruguayan. He emphasized that the team “wins together, loses together.”
“No need to apologize, brother. We win together, we lose together,” Bellingham was quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
With the loss, Real Madrid remains in second place in the league with 33 points from 15 games.
