LeBron James and Son Bronny Deny Allegations in 2022 Los Angeles Highway Crash Lawsuit

A newly filed lawsuit alleges that NBA superstar LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, were involved in a Los Angeles-area highway crash in 2022. However, both James men have strongly denied the claims.

According to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes, the lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in October 2023 by April Alamanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen. The plaintiffs claim that LeBron and Bronny crashed into them on a highway near Littlerock, California, in November 2022, resulting in vehicle damage and undisclosed injuries requiring ongoing treatment.

Authorities Have No Record of the Alleged Crash

Key details surrounding the alleged car accident remain unclear. The Palmdale Sheriff’s Station and the California Highway Patrol told ESPN that no reports exist of the alleged incident. Littlerock, California, is located southeast of Palmdale, both of which sit north of the Los Angeles metro area.

LeBron and Bronny James Deny All Allegations

Attorneys representing LeBron James and Bronny James responded to the lawsuit last week, denying all allegations and asserting that the plaintiffs have not suffered damages as claimed. The legal team listed 14 defenses against the lawsuit.

At the time of the alleged crash, Bronny James was still in high school. He later played one season at USC before being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. This season, Bronny and LeBron James made history as the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA.

Lakers’ Performance and Player Stats

So far this season, Bronny James has averaged 1.4 points in 17 games, while LeBron James continues to excel in his 22nd NBA season, averaging 24.7 points, 8.8 assists, and 7.7 rebounds per game. The Los Angeles Lakers currently hold a 34-21 record and rank fourth in the Western Conference heading into their game against the Dallas Mavericks.
