Madison, now 26, was discovered by Justin Bieber after posting a cover of Etta James’ “At Last” in 2012. The video caught the attention of Bieber’s former manager, Scooter Braun, who signed Beer to his label. However, the experience of being thrust into the industry at such a young age proved to be challenging for the artist.
In the interview, Madison described how she was subjected to inappropriate comments about her appearance when she was just 14, with grown men discussing how “too sexy” she looked for her age. A nude photo leak at 15 further added to the trauma. At 16, Beer was dropped by her manager, label, and lawyer, leading to feelings of abandonment and disillusionment. “Literally the same day my manager dropped me, my lawyer dropped me, and my label dropped me,” she said. “Everything in my life went away within 12 hours.”

Beer revealed the emotional toll the music industry had on her. “I was 16 and my label was like, ‘Good luck.’ And I’m like, ‘You guys just stole years of my childhood that I’ll never get back,’” she said, reflecting on the rapid shift in her career trajectory. She also shared the challenges she faced, including being homeschooled, lacking friends, and struggling to find her place in Los Angeles. “My whole family uprooted and moved to Los Angeles with no connections. I have no friends. Are you guys kidding me?” she added.
Despite her early setbacks, Madison has continued to grow in her career and is now in a stronger place. She also spoke out about her experience with Braun, noting that Justin Bieber, who was also young when she was signed, had similarly gone through a lot in the public eye. “Justin was also only a teenager when I got signed—he hadn’t even experienced his adult life yet.
