Megyn Kelly Slams Democrats Over Elon Musk’s Potential White House Exit: ‘Sad’ He’s Not Celebrated Like Einstein or Edison

Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly expressed disappointment on Wednesday over reports that Elon Musk may soon exit his role in the Trump White House. On The Megyn Kelly Show, she criticized Democrats for allegedly celebrating the news and compared Musk to historic innovators like Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison.

Speaking about the Politico and ABC News reports that Musk could step down before the end of his 130-day term as a special government employee, Kelly called the situation “sad.”

“Imagine living in the time of Einstein or Edison and telling them, ‘We don’t want your help,’” Kelly said. “That’s what the left is doing with Elon Musk — rejecting one of the greatest minds of our time because of politics.”

She also speculated that ongoing criticism and attacks on Musk may be taking a toll.

“His Tesla stock is down. People are afraid to buy Teslas. They’re worried about vandalism, arson at charging stations, even hate crimes. And yet the left is celebrating this,” she added.

The controversy follows news that Donald Trump has reportedly told his inner circle that Musk may step down before his term ends in late May. However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt denied those claims.

“Elon Musk and President Trump have both said Elon will leave public service only once his work with DOGE is complete,” Leavitt clarified.

As head of DOGE — the Department of Government Efficiency — Musk has led a campaign to slash $1 trillion in federal spending and reduce bureaucracy. He recently stated on Fox News that he’s confident most of his objectives will be completed by his 130-day deadline.
