Meta Fires 20 Employees for Leaking Confidential Information

Meta has reportedly dismissed approximately 20 employees for leaking internal information, according to The Verge.

“We inform employees upon joining and provide periodic reminders that leaking internal information, regardless of intent, violates company policy,” Meta stated. “Following a recent investigation, we terminated around 20 employees for sharing confidential details externally, and we anticipate further action. We take this matter seriously and will continue to address leaks accordingly.”

This decision follows a wave of media reports revealing leaked insights from Meta’s internal meetings and undisclosed product plans. Notably, a recent all-hands meeting led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg was among the leaked discussions. In response, Meta warned employees that those responsible would face termination.

Further emphasizing the company’s crackdown, leaked comments from Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth suggested that the company was close to identifying the sources of the leaks.
