Imagine a TV universe where every character Nicole Kidman has ever played lives side-by-side — and the actress herself is all for it.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at the season 2 premiere of Hulu’s “Nine Perfect Strangers”, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, 57, revealed she would be “up for” the idea of a show combining all her television roles into one extended universe.
“That’s hilarious. I’d be up for it,” Kidman said. “I’m always ready to try things.”
Kidman, known for her powerful performances and diverse roles, explained her passion for acting: “I have a huge passion for what I do. I love doing what I do, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate in my journey.”
When asked why she returned to the character of Masha in “Nine Perfect Strangers,” she said, “Because she’s fun and powerful.” She also shared a humorous tidbit about the character’s description: “Maisie [Richardson-Sellers] said, ‘Masha sharks it.’ I was like, ‘What does that mean?’ But I think it means she’s a shark.”
No Onscreen Projects with Husband Keith Urban, Says Kidman
While Kidman is open to almost anything professionally, she shut down the idea of ever starring alongside her husband, country music star Keith Urban.
“We’re together in life, so we don’t need to do our show together. Our life is a show,” she told PEOPLE at the premiere.
The couple married in 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Behind the Scenes: Kidman’s Role as Producer
Beyond acting, Kidman is also making strides as a producer. She shared in a 2024 interview with PEOPLE that she has been “stepping into” her power behind the camera, taking on the challenge of guiding projects from start to finish.
“It’s … being able to go, ‘Okay, I can actually not just act in this show, but I can shepherd it and carry it and make strong, hard, logical decisions,’” she said.
Season 2 of “Nine Perfect Strangers” premieres May 21 on Hulu.
