The Nasarawa State government has presented the Nasarawa Amazons, a team in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), with a financial boost of N10 million to support their preparations for the 2024-25 season.

Governor Abdullahi Sule made the donation while hosting the team at the Government House in Lafia on Wednesday. He assured the team that their challenges would be addressed before the new season kicks off.

It is worth noting that the Nasarawa Amazons recently won the Women’s Football Pre-season Tournament in Edo State.

“I want to inform you that the issues you’ve raised have been noted and will soon be resolved,” Governor Sule said during the meeting. “I also learned that you won N10 million as champions of the pre-season tournament, and I am adding another N10 million to that to further encourage your efforts.”

The exact start date for the 2024-25 NWFL season has not yet been announced by the organisers.
