PDP’s Ezenwafor Vows to Bring Unprecedented Development to Anambra

EZENWAFOR

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. Chukwudi Umeadi Ezenwafor, has pledged to transform the state into a model of inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment if elected into office in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

Ezenwafor, who made the bold declaration during a rally in Awka on Thursday, assured party faithful and residents of Anambra that his administration will prioritize transparency, good governance, and the welfare of the people above all else. He emphasized that the time had come for the state to experience a new wave of leadership driven by innovation, competence, and accountability.

A Vision for Modern Anambra

Speaking to a cheering crowd of supporters, the PDP flagbearer outlined a comprehensive vision for Anambra State, centered on revitalizing the economy, improving infrastructure, and creating job opportunities for the youth.

“I am not here to make empty promises,” Ezenwafor declared. “I am here to give Anambra the leadership it deserves—one that is practical, people-oriented, and driven by a genuine desire to serve. My mission is to transform Anambra into one of Nigeria’s most developed and livable states.”

He said his administration would focus on fixing roads across the state, boosting power supply through alternative energy solutions, improving access to healthcare, and making education free and compulsory at the primary and secondary levels.

Economic Revamp and Job Creation

Ezenwafor also promised to industrialize the state by creating an enabling environment for small and medium-scale businesses to thrive. According to him, his economic plan includes establishing industrial parks, agricultural processing zones, and digital innovation hubs.

“Young people in Anambra are creative and energetic. What they need is the right support system and leadership that will unlock their potential,” he stated. “Under my watch, thousands of jobs will be created through industrial development, ICT investment, and agriculture.”

He also proposed the creation of a State Economic Development Council to include representatives from the business community, academia, and civil society to help guide strategic decisions.

Security and Rule of Law

On the issue of insecurity, which has plagued parts of the Southeast region, Ezenwafor emphasized that restoring peace and order in Anambra would be one of his first priorities.

“We cannot build a prosperous state in an atmosphere of fear and violence,” he said. “We will work with federal security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community leaders to maintain peace and stability. My administration will invest in intelligence gathering and surveillance technology to stay ahead of threats.”

He also promised to promote justice and the rule of law, ensuring that the judiciary remains independent and accessible to all citizens.

Women and Youth Empowerment

In a bid to foster inclusive governance, the PDP candidate pledged to run an administration that will prioritize the empowerment of women and youth. He promised a 35% quota for women in political appointments and leadership positions and announced plans to create a Youth Advisory Council that will play a central role in policy-making.

“Young people and women are not just voters—they are builders of our future. My government will not leave anyone behind,” Ezenwafor affirmed.

Internal Party Support and Endorsements

Dr. Ezenwafor’s candidacy has continued to attract wide support within the PDP, with several high-ranking members of the party throwing their weight behind him. At the rally, he was accompanied by key party stakeholders, including former ministers, lawmakers, and traditional rulers who endorsed his candidacy as the best choice for Anambra.

Chief Ndubuisi Okechukwu, a PDP chieftain in the state, praised Ezenwafor as “a visionary leader whose time has come.”

“Anambra needs a leader who understands the people and has a clear plan. Ezenwafor is not just talking—he is ready to deliver,” Okechukwu said.

A Call for Unity and Support

The PDP candidate urged the people of Anambra to look beyond party politics and rally behind a shared vision of transformation and progress.

“This election is not about me alone. It is about all of us—our future, our children, our communities. Let us unite to build a better Anambra,” he said.

He encouraged voters to remain vigilant, participate fully in the electoral process, and resist any attempt to manipulate the will of the people.

Countdown to the Polls

With campaigns heating up ahead of the November gubernatorial election, Dr. Ezenwafor’s emergence and message of transformation have started to gain traction among undecided voters and the youth demographic.

As the political tempo rises in Anambra State, all eyes remain on the candidates and their capacity to offer a compelling vision that resonates with the electorate. For Ezenwafor, the path to victory lies in convincing the people that he is not just another politician, but a reformer ready to write a new chapter in the history of the state.
