The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) has emphasized the need for professionalism and a zero-tolerance approach among all officers and personnel serving the nation. Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations, issued this statement following the PSC Chairman’s remarks during the Commission’s emergency Management meeting.
In his address, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Argungu, who presided over the meeting, underscored the Commission’s commitment to guiding the newly appointed DIG in aligning with its overarching vision for a Police Force that is both professional and accountable to the Nigerian public.
DIG Argungu further elaborated that the Commission is dedicated to fostering a new era within the Nigerian Police, one that will be free from corruption and characterized by vigor, determination, and a deep sense of duty to serve the people of Nigeria. He stressed that the new direction aims to create a Police Force that will earn the respect and pride of the Nigerian populace.
Additionally, the PSC Chairman highlighted the Commission’s continued collaboration with the Police, reaffirming their shared commitment to upholding the core responsibility of protecting lives, safeguarding property, and combating crime in all its forms.
Finally, the Chairman extended his congratulations to DIG Ari Mohammed Ali on his new appointment and urged him to give his utmost dedication and service to the nation, emphasizing the importance of his contribution to the nation’s security and peace.
