Despite these efforts, parents on Mumsnet express concerns about managing their children’s Roblox usage. Justine Roberts, Mumsnet’s CEO, acknowledges the presence of parental controls but highlights the challenge of constant supervision.
BBC Investigation: Safety Filters Bypassed
A BBC investigation found that Roblox’s safety measures can be bypassed. Using two fake accounts (ages 15 and 27), researchers exchanged messages, successfully rewording requests to move conversations to external platforms.
When confronted with these findings, Baszucki defended Roblox’s policies, stating that the platform actively prevents harmful interactions and goes beyond legal requirements to ensure child safety.
