Popular Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has clarified that his opposition is directed at European colonialism, not the European people, challenging common misconceptions.

Known for his strong stance against imperialism and corruption, Seun emphasized that his criticism targets the historical injustices of colonization, not the individuals from European nations.

In an Instagram post, the singer called for a fairer world and reiterated that his critique of European colonization should not be misunderstood as hatred towards Europeans.

“I’m against European colonisation and imperialism, but that does not mean I’m against European people. Many Europeans have supported us in our fight against greed and unjust systems, striving to create a more equitable world for all,” Seun stated. “Opposing colonization doesn’t equate to opposing Europeans; many have joined us in the fight for justice and fairness.”
