Steph Curry Injury Update: Warriors Star Ruled Out for Game 5 vs. Timberwolves in 2025 NBA Playoffs

Golden State Warriors fans hoping for a Steph Curry return in the 2025 NBA Playoffs will have to wait a bit longer. The team officially ruled out Curry for Game 5 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, at Target Center in Minneapolis.

The two-time NBA MVP will miss his fourth consecutive game after suffering a Grade 1 hamstring strain during Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on May 6. According to the NBA’s latest injury report released Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ET, Curry remains out, dealing a major blow to the Warriors’ postseason hopes.

Curry’s status will be re-evaluated Wednesday, but his absence leaves Golden State in a must-win situation, trailing the Timberwolves 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr remained noncommittal when asked about a possible Game 6 return, telling reporters after Monday’s 117-110 loss in Game 4:
“When are we giving the update?” Kerr said, glancing at team PR. “Wednesday, we’ll have an update.”

Veteran forward Draymond Green added perspective during his postgame comments, emphasizing Curry’s long-term health over short-term urgency.
“Nah, we’re not going to Superman this thing. If he’s in a place where he can play, I’m sure he will,” Green said. “But there’s no pressure. We’ve got to find a way to win whether he plays or not.”

The Warriors, already struggling offensively without Curry, will now need to rely on role players and veteran leadership to keep their 2025 NBA Playoffs run alive. While Curry is out for Game 5, optimism remains that he could return for Game 6 — if Golden State can extend the series.
