Pop superstar Taylor Swift recently revealed her true feelings about former President Donald Trump, months before Trump reignited their high-profile feud by declaring Swift “no longer hot” on Truth Social.
On May 16, Trump posted to his nearly 10 million followers: “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?’” This comment followed Swift’s public condemnation of Trump for using AI-generated images of her to falsely endorse his 2024 presidential campaign.
Swift responded to the misinformation with a clear message on social media: “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight… As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.” She expressed concern about the dangers of AI-generated fake endorsements, emphasizing the importance of transparency and truth.
In her statement, Swift confirmed her political stance, revealing she would vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift said, praising Harris’s leadership and Walz’s advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women’s reproductive rights.
Swift encouraged her followers to research candidates thoroughly before casting their votes, underscoring the power of informed decision-making.
The day after Swift’s post, Trump publicly confirmed his disdain for the singer during a Fox & Friends interview. “I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” Trump admitted. “She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Interestingly, Trump’s views on Swift have evolved over the years. In 2012, he praised her, tweeting, “@taylorswift13 Thanks for the beautiful picture—you are fantastic!” and commenting positively on her then-relationship with Conor Kennedy.
However, Trump’s tone shifted around 2018 after Swift urged her fans to vote against Republican Marsha Blackburn, whom Swift called “Trump in a wig” in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana. Trump responded by saying, “Let’s just say I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now.”
Despite this, in a 2024 interview for the book Apprentice in Wonderland, Trump described Swift as “unusually beautiful” and “very talented,” although his recent social media posts indicate a stark departure from those earlier compliments.
This ongoing Donald Trump Taylor Swift feud highlights the complex intersection of celebrity influence, political endorsements, and misinformation in the digital age.
