“We will address any group attempting to create a crisis within our party – Jigawa APC.”

The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong warning regarding any group that attempts to instigate crises or form factions within the party. This statement was articulated in a press release signed by the party chairman, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, and distributed to JOINTEARN.

In the release, the APC made it clear that they have become increasingly aware of the actions of certain individuals who are seen as adversaries of the party, desperately trying to incite discord through smear campaigns targeting party leaders within the state. The statement emphasized that these adversarial actions are part of a broader strategy by unscrupulous elements who lack legitimate standing within the party, as many of them are not even recognized as card-carrying members.

The party has been vigilantly monitoring various social media and mainstream media platforms, where there have been organized efforts by these individuals to disrupt the unity and cohesion of the APC. Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel highlighted that a select few narrow-minded party members have been manipulated by these adversaries to push their self-serving agenda, which jeopardizes the peace and stability of the APC.

Moreover, the chairman underscored the importance of the APC-led government in Jigawa State, led by Governor Malam Umar Namadi, which embodies the values and continuity of the previous administration under Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar. He noted that both leaders command significant respect and confidence within the party, and their reputations are of utmost importance, requiring vigilant protection.

In a stern declaration, Gumel asserted that the Jigawa APC will not permit any misguided individuals to create discord or foster a situation that could hinder the APC-led government from fulfilling its campaign promises in Jigawa State and Nigeria at large. He pointed out that any unfounded and sponsored reports aimed at discrediting key party figures, including the Hon. Minister of Defense, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken.

The statement further revealed that the faceless group, which lacks any legitimate affiliation with the APC headquarters in Jigawa State, has made numerous false allegations against the minister, including claims of anti-party activities. In light of this, the chairman cautioned that the Jigawa APC would explore all legal avenues to identify the group and its sponsors, taking necessary political and legal measures as required.

JOINTEARN has noted that there seems to be a political struggle among certain party members loyal to both the former governor and Minister of Defense Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, as well as those aligned with the current Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi. This struggle appears to be aimed at creating a division between the two prominent leaders, further complicating the dynamics within the party.
