What Draymond Green Told a 'Confused' Tari Eason After Warriors-Rockets Skirmish

Draymond Green and Tari Eason’s Controversial Exchange Sparks Tension in Warriors-Rockets Playoff Series

The NBA Western Conference first-round playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets has been filled with drama, including a tense moment during Game 4, which ended in a 109-106 win for the Warriors. The incident in question involved Warriors forward Draymond Green and Rockets forward Tari Eason, leaving Eason visibly confused about the call.

The Incident: Green’s Jersey Tug and Eason’s Reaction

With the Rockets holding a narrow 47-46 lead near the end of the second quarter, Eason stole the ball from Green near the top of the key. However, as Eason took possession, Green appeared to tug on the back of his jersey, causing Eason to fall on top of him. As the play continued, Green rolled over Eason, with his foot dangerously close to the Rockets forward’s head. In retaliation, Eason shoved Green, leading to a brief scuffle that cleared both benches.

Technical Fouls and Eason’s Confusion

Following the altercation, both Green and Eason were assessed technical fouls. However, Eason expressed confusion about being penalized, especially given the physical nature of the play. Speaking to reporters after practice, Eason explained, “I was surprised I got a technical because when somebody’s leg is on the back of your head, I don’t understand what they want me to do besides getting his leg off the back of my head. And once I got his leg off the back of my head, he then grabbed me. So I’m confused why I got a technical. But at the same time, I’m not; they’ve been calling the game kind of like that the whole series, so it is what it is.”

Draymond Green’s Response: No Apologies, Just Explanation

Despite the heated exchange, Green and Eason were seen speaking later in the game. When asked about the interaction, Eason shared Green’s explanation for the incident. “He was like, ‘If I was going to kick you in the head, I would have done it on purpose,’ I guess,” Eason said. “There’s no apologies in this situation; I’m not looking for no apology.”

Green’s History of Controversy and the Series Outlook

Draymond Green has a long history of controversial moments, many of which have led to fines, suspensions, or escalating tensions with opposing players. In this playoff series, Green has already been at the center of several altercations, and it seems the drama is far from over, with the Warriors looking to close out the series in Game 5 on Wednesday at Toyota Center.
