“Why Many Women Remain Unmarried in Their 30s – Kanayo O. Kanayo”

Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has shared his views on why many women remain unmarried in their 30s.

He believes that the decisions they made in their younger years have contributed to their current singleness.

Kanayo explained that many women in their 30s spent their 20s involved with older, often married, wealthy men, while rejecting younger, potential husbands.

In a recent interview with News Central, he said, “A young woman in university, around 18 or 19, may start dating a wealthy older man, sometimes much older. As the relationship progresses, she becomes accustomed to his gifts, such as a car or a house, which makes her feel she’s living a high lifestyle. This often leads her to turn down advances from younger men, believing she is on a different level.”

He continued, “By 22 or 24, she may still be with the older man, and even if they have disagreements, she easily moves on to another rich man. But by the time she’s 25 or 26, she remains unmarried because she has overlooked younger suitors. As she enters her late 20s and early 30s, the men who once found her attractive no longer do.”

Kanayo further explained, “By 31, a woman finds it harder to meet potential husbands. What began as a carefree time at 23 becomes a prayer point by 28. By 33, she may be labeled as a ‘state of emergency,’ and even some women who reach 35 still believe they are enjoying life, unaware they are in a serious crisis, desperately praying for a partner.”
