Nollywood star Funke Akindele has set a new record as her film Behind the Scenes becomes the first Nigerian movie to surpass ₦2 billion at the box office.
According to FilmOne, one of Nigeria’s leading film distributors, the movie generated ₦2,103,039,706 within just one month of its release. Reacting to the historic feat on Instagram, Akindele said:
“We have every reason to thank God. 2 billion and counting is not a joke. Joy overflows, my heart is full of gratitude to God and my amazing fans. Reaching this incredible milestone would not have been possible without you. I’m deeply grateful.”
