The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has denied endorsing President Bola Tinubu during the presentation of his 2026 prophecies on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
Reports had suggested that the prophet endorsed the President for a second term. However, in a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele clarified that his words were misinterpreted and that he did not, at any point, endorse President Tinubu.
“I have no business endorsing anyone for political positions; I am not a politician, and I am not seeking favor from President Tinubu,” he stated. “I am a prophet, and my words are from the Lord. The only thing I know how to do is prophesy, not endorsement.”
Primate Ayodele explained that he merely observed that President Tinubu has performed better than former President Muhammadu Buhari and emphasized that Nigerians would vote for integrity in the next election.
“What I said did not endorse President Tinubu. I mentioned that Tinubu has done better than Buhari, and that Nigerians will vote for integrity, not party alone, in the next election,” he clarified.
He further noted that while Tinubu has good intentions for Nigerians, some people around him have not fully actualized his directives. “Putting the right people in the right positions in 2027 is what we need. Nigerians will vote not only for parties but also for integrity and intelligence,” the prophet added.
Primate Ayodele urged Nigerians to disregard misreported claims and called on media practitioners to uphold professional ethics by seeking clarification before publishing such information.
