Iragbiji Monarch Urges Community to Raise Funds for Development at Annual Iragbiji Day

The Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV, has emphasized that the annual Iragbiji Day celebration serves as a platform to raise funds for the socio-economic, human, and capital development of the town.

Speaking ahead of the 34th Iragbiji Day anniversary on November 15, the monarch highlighted the community’s progress over the last 17 years under his reign, noting achievements in participatory governance and development-driven traditional democracy.

“Our investments in human development have yielded bountiful harvests, evident in the socio-economic and structural development of Iragbiji,” Oba Olabomi said. He pointed to ongoing projects such as the Civic Center, a High Court and Magistrate Court complex, and a state-of-the-art palace built solely through community efforts without government funding.

The statement also noted the community’s role in attracting the federal government’s decision to establish a federal university in Iragbiji, sponsored by the Iragbiji Indigenous Development Association.

Community leaders appealed to guests, dignitaries, and government officials to donate generously during the anniversary celebration to further consolidate the town’s development.
