Former President Goodluck Jonathan has described his political journey as a miracle, attributing his rise through Nigeria’s political ranks to divine intervention.
Jonathan made the remarks on Friday during a book launch commemorating the 60th birthday of his former aide, Dr. Reuben Abati.
Reflecting on his rapid ascent, Jonathan noted that his progression from deputy governor to governor, then Vice President, and eventually President could only have been achieved through God’s guidance.
“My political journey looks like a political miracle. From deputy governor to becoming the president of this country in under four years was a miracle. It’s only God that made it possible,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude to Dr. Abati for chronicling part of his political life in the book ‘How Goodluck Jonathan Became President’, praising Abati’s intellect, writing, and analytical skills.
“I always like people who write about me because sometimes it’s so difficult to even write about yourself. When people write about you, it makes more meaning.
I’ll be very interested to read how Goodluck Jonathan became president from back to back,” Jonathan added.
