Brittany Snow is embracing a whirlwind 2025 with grace, grit, and gratitude. The 39-year-old actress has seen three major TV projects premiere in just three months: Netflix’s The Hunting Wives and The Beast in Me, as well as Hulu’s Murdaugh: Death in the Family. Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at a New York City screening of The Beast in Me on November 5, Snow reflected on the challenges and rewards of juggling multiple high-profile roles.
A Year of Challenges and Growth
“This year has just been one of those years where I challenge myself, and sometimes I miss and sometimes I win, and I get to learn from it all,” Snow shared. “That’s really exciting for me.” Her attitude highlights her commitment to growth as both an actress and a professional navigating the demanding entertainment industry.
Diving Into The Beast in Me
Snow plays Nina, the wife of real estate mogul Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), in Netflix’s mystery thriller The Beast in Me. The series follows acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes), who steps away from public life after the death of her young son and becomes intrigued by her enigmatic new neighbors.
“I’m really proud of this one,” Snow told PEOPLE. “I think this was such a departure for me in terms of getting to be a part of a show where I really admired everyone and being able to be in the same community and the same room with some people that I grew up loving and holding my own.” The cast also features Natalie Morales, Kate Burton, Jonathan Banks, and Will Brill, giving Snow the opportunity to work alongside some of her most respected peers.
Prioritizing Mental Health
Snow’s career longevity and versatility are grounded in her early decision to focus on mental health. She previously took a two-year hiatus from acting before her breakout role in Pitch Perfect (2011), admitting she feared she might never return to work.
“During that time, I had to learn how to handle my anxiety and my nerves,” she recalled. “I didn’t think I was ever going to work again because I felt like I had to restart my career. But that time off was hugely important for me to find out who I was. It was a restart, in a way, that gave me a clear path forward.”
Redefining Success
Having started acting at age 12 on CBS’s Guiding Light, Snow’s perspective on success has evolved over the years. “I think my idea of success when I was younger was this sort of one-track mind of needing to be Julia Roberts because as a 10-year-old girl, everyone wants to be Julia Roberts,” she said. “I think as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that there’s so many different forms of success. Success, to me, is the fact that I’m still doing this, and I love it even more now. I remind myself all the time that I didn’t give up.”
Upcoming Streaming
The Beast in Me will be available to stream on Netflix starting November 13, adding another highlight to Brittany Snow’s impressive 2025.
