Pan-African insurance and financial services company, emPLE, has joined ART X Lagos 2025 as a Bronze Sponsor and Presenting Partner for a Special Project focused on sustainability. This marks emPLE’s second consecutive year at West Africa’s premier international art fair, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future for Africa.
As part of the partnership, emPLE will provide general liability insurance for the event, ensuring a safe and seamless experience for all participants. Additionally, the company will sponsor a featured artist, Temitayo Ogunbiyi, whose installation “Where there is life, there is hope (B’á ò kú, iṣẹ ò tán)” explores the connection between creativity, community, and urban life. Through drawing, sculpture, painting, and site-specific work, Temitayo’s art highlights how human interactions and environments shape collective futures.
Commenting on the collaboration, Olalekan Oyinlade, MD/CEO of emPLE General Insurance, said:
“Insurance is more than protection—it’s a possibility. By supporting artists who translate sustainability into action, we reinforce the belief that progress is a collective effort, where creativity helps communities envision responsible and innovative futures.”
Tokini Peterside-Schwebig, Founder and Chairman of ART X, added:
“As we celebrate ART X Lagos’ 10th anniversary, we are thrilled to welcome emPLE back. Their commitment to sustainable progress aligns perfectly with our mission to elevate African creativity, showcasing the power of art to spark meaningful change.”
The Special Project, curated by Missola Libsekal, will be featured at ART X Lagos 2025, with a bespoke campaign extending its reach across Nigeria and Ghana. The initiative is part of emPLE’s INSPIRE values—Integrity, Nurture, Service, Purpose, Innovation, Respect, and Excellence—underscoring the company’s dedication to empowering individuals, institutions, and communities sustainably.
Founded in 2016, ART X Lagos celebrates contemporary African and diaspora culture, drawing artists and galleries from over 70 countries and visitors from 170 nations. The fair’s multidisciplinary programming—including ART X Live!, ART X Cinema, and ART X Talks—champions emerging talent through initiatives like the ART X Prize and The Development Forum, solidifying its role as a transformative cultural catalyst shaping the African art sector globally.
